Covering all aspects of the Baylor football program, from the day-to-day minutiae to writing larger, deep-dive features on a weekly basis. Includes in-game coverage and any and all forms of breaking news. Travels with the team to every away game and postseason bowl games. Appears on the weekly podcast ‘One True Podcast’ along with Trib sports editor Brice Cherry.

Also responsible for covering Baylor women’s basketball, Baylor softball and men’s and women’s golf, occasionally traveling with the team. Duties include day-to-day coverage, feature writing and breaking news.

Hill Country News, Cedar Park, TX — Sports Editor (November 2016 - July 2023)

A do-it-all one-man-band covering the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, the Round Rock Express, Austin Spurs, Texas Stars, Austin Bold FC and all sports at 12 high schools in two school districts. Also took photos for nearly every event, including action and feature photos. Managed the HCN Sports Twitter and Facebook pages, posting stories and photos and engaging with readers.

Laredo Morning Times, Laredo, TX — Sports Reporter (November 2014 - November 2016)

I hunted for, pitched and wrote at least six stories a week about seven high schools, two colleges, an independent baseball team and a fourth-tier soccer team. I broke the news that the two-time champion soccer team — the Laredo Heat — would not be playing during the 2016 season. Responsibilities also included manning the desk two times a week, which included editing stories, headlines and captions, overseeing page layout and managing all forms of LMT social media.

U.S. Soccer Federation, Chicago — Communications Intern (May 2013 - August 2013)

Wrote daily press releases and at least one feature story per week regarding all levels of the USSF including the Paralympic team, Youth National Teams, Futsal, Beach Soccer and the Men’s and Women’s National Teams. Fully in charge of managing the and covering the 2013 U.S. Open Cup. Part of a five-man team that traveled to Houston for Development Academy Finals Week, writing stories and creating video content during the weeklong tournament.

The State News, East Lansing, MI — Sports Reporter (May 2012 — April 2014)

Started out as a general assignment reporter, and covered all aspects of MSU sports, including Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Hockey and Women’s Basketball. Covered MSU football leading up to the 2013 season.

Became the MSU Men’s Basketball reporter beginning in Dec. 2013 and continued covering the team during its run to the Elite Eight, where MSU lost to Connecticut at Madison Square Garden. Shot and edited stand-up analysis videos twice a week.

MLive.com, Lansing, MI — High School Sports Freelancer (August 2013 — March 2014)

Attended high school football games on Fridays and basketball games on Tuesdays/Fridays in a freelance role while in college, writing gamers and publishing them after the game.
